In January 2020, the Tybee Island Police Department entered into a partnership with the Humane Society for Greater Savannah called “K9 For A Day”. As part of this effort a shelter dog joins our officers on patrol twice a month in order to exercise, socialize and increase their chances for adoption.

As a popular beach vacation destination, Tybee Island hosts thousands of families every year…but who takes care of the kids if something happens to their parents? That’s where the volunteers of Operation Starlight come in.
