One of our officers stopped a vehicle for failing to maintain its lane.
While talking to the driver, the officer smelled an odor similar to that of an alcoholic drink flowing through her open window. When asked how much alcohol she had to drink that evening, the woman admitted to “two beers”.
During the course of the subsequent investigation, the officer found additional evidence to suggest that the woman had been operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. She was then placed under arrest, and charged with Failure to Maintain Lane, and DUI (Less Safe).

Officers responded to the area of 17th and Chatham in reference to a vehicle crashing into someone’s house and carport. Once in the area, our team found that the driver had left the scene and was pulling on the door handles of cars that he passed as he walked away. While speaking with the driver, it became obvious to officers that the man was in the midst of a mental health crisis.
During the course of the investigation, our teammates learned that the man’s vehicle had collided with both the victim’s house and boat trailer. As a result, the vehicle had become wedged between the top of the trailer and the bottom of the sailboat it contained. After assessing the situation, firefighters and a representative from the towing company determined that it was necessary to cut the trailer into pieces in order to safely remove the vehicle from its grasp.
