While in the parking lot of the Tybee Island Police Department, a Code Compliance worker spotted a man chasing two juveniles down the street. After responding to the scene, our officers learned that the two kids had knocked on the man’s door as part of a game commonly called “ding dong ditch”. When they ran away, he gave chase, citing the fact that he “feared for his safety” and “needed to defend his property”.
In the end, the juveniles returned to their parents, and the homeowner was warned against taking the law into his own hands.
