(Tybee Island, GA) - Detectives with the Tybee Island Police Department have charged Larry Walter Chase with Unlawful Eavesdropping or Surveillance after hidden cameras were found in the restrooms of a local restaurant.

On Thursday, September 17, 2026, employees of North Beach Bar and Grill contacted the Tybee Island Police Department after they discovered a small camera concealed under a shelf in one of the restaurant’s bathrooms. A second camera was later found on top of an air freshener in the business’s other restroom. While reviewing the contents, detectives discovered that the cameras captured footage of several individuals using the facilities. With the cooperation of the restaurant, the detectives were able to identify 48-year-old Larry Walter Chase as the suspect in the investigation. Chase was subsequently arrested on Tuesday, September 22nd, and booked into the Chatham County Detention Center on the charge of Unlawful Eavesdropping or Surveillance.
