• Officers responded to an address on McKenzie Avenue in reference to a civil issue.

    While speaking with our teammates, the caller stated that they hired a contractor to build a deck at one of their properties for $43,000. During the course of the job, the customer and contractor had disagreements over the project, leading to the contractor quitting before the work was finished. As a result, the customer paid them approximately $35,000 of the originally agreed upon $43,000. Since that time, the contractor has allegedly threatened to return to the site and tear down the work that had already been done.

    At the customer’s request, officers made contact with the contractor and issued him a verbal Criminal Trespass notice for the property. A report was filed, and the parties involved were advised that the matter would need to be handled civilly.

  • One of our officers stopped a vehicle for having a suspended registration and no insurance.

    During the course of the investigation, the officer learned that the driver did not have a license. As a result, he was placed under arrest and charged accordingly.

  • One of our officers responded to a business on Butler Avenue in reference to damage to property.

    While speaking with our teammate, the victim stated that as she was leaving the business, she was approached by an employee of a utility company. During the course of their conversation, the utility worker told her that a nearby electrical component had exploded, raining fragments on her vehicle’s windshield, roof, and hood.

    The parties then exchanged information and agreed to handle the matter privately. A report was filed, and no further action was taken at that time.

  • Officers responded to a vacation rental property on Izlar Avenue in reference to a noise complaint. While speaking with the occupants, the officer explained the local noise ordinance and asked them to keep the party indoors for the remainder of the evening. A report was filed, and no further action was taken during that time.
