While on patrol, one of our officers spotted a dog walking in the middle of Fort Avenue. After checking the dog for a collar, the officer brought the animal to the Tybee Island Police Department where it was provided with food and water.
A report was filed, and the case was turned over to Code Compliance.

A man came to the Tybee Island Police Department to report an incident of damage to property.
While speaking with one of our teammates, the man stated that someone had struck his bicycle while it was parked outside of a local gas station. The man further stated that the store owner reviewed surveillance footage of the incident but refused to provide him with any information as to who was responsible.
A report was filed, and the case remains under investigation.

Officers responded to a local nursing home in reference to damage to property.
While speaking with our team, a representative of the nursing home stated that they recently terminated the employment of a maintenance man. Following his firing, the man allegedly turned on a sink in the maintenance room and removed the handles, causing the area to flood.
A report was filed, and the case remains under investigation.

An officer responded to a local motel in reference to a criminal trespass ban.
While speaking with our teammate, a representative of the motel asked that the suspect be officially banned from six properties affiliated with the company. The suspect was provided with written notice and informed that he would be subject to arrest if he ever returned.
A report was filed and no further action was taken during that time.

One of our officers stopped a vehicle for failing to maintain its lane.
While talking to the driver, the officer noticed that her eyes were bloodshot and that she slurred her words as she spoke. There was also an odor similar to that of an alcoholic drink wafting from her breath.
When given the opportunity to participate in Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, the woman refused. She was then placed under arrest and charged with Failure to Maintain Lane and DUI (Less Safe).

An officer responded to a local convenience store in reference to a report of people panhandling and harassing customers. While speaking with our teammate, a representative of the store expressed a desire to have the suspects banned.
The officer then spoke with the only suspect still on the property and advised him that he would be subject to arrest if he ever returned. A report was filed, and no further action was taken during that time.
